A brilliant night out seeing Tex Perkins and Matt Walker in the shed. Beers & G&Ts in the back before the event were a exercise in unassuming fun. The bar man is a cracker, with many a witty aside. We had already eaten so I have no idea about the food but the sitting around in large reclaimed comfy op shop furniture with a cold beer makes a simple but easy going night out.

Went to see a gig here with family. Had never heard of the artist. Wasn’t my cup of tea. They offered pizzas and they took forever and weren’t too great. I’ve heard the main restaurant is great and hope to visit it at some point.

A lovely pub in the area. The food is a bit $$ but generous portions and tasty. We had two items from the specials menu – fish pie and steak and the steak was delicious! The fish pie was good but no where as nice as the steak. Love the local pub feel and worth a visit if staying in the area. Gets quite busy so suggest to book ahead.

I have visited Pig and Whistle on several occasions.. always found the food delicious.. the atmosphere is vibrant.. the staff are friendly .. The Shed is a great venue for bands .. today Fathers Day I spent at the Cellar enjoyed live music from James Vincent wood fired pizza was on offer .. this again was a fabulous afternoon .. the restaurant seemed to be fully booked and the beer garden was a hive of activity .. great for kids to run around … the cellar I believe, can be hired for private functions .. Pig and Whistle has everything.. if you’re visiting Main Ridge area do yourself a favour and pop in ..

The weather in Melbourne over the last few months had been abysmal but we were blessed with a sensational day for sitting outside, under the shade of, I think, a grafted elm tree with a very thick canopy. The service was so friendly and my girlfriends and I were very well catered for. I had the original ploughman’s platter and it was huge and absolutely magnificent with a large variety of delicious food. I could see the beautiful lawned grounds with beautiful flowers and children having a run around on the lawn in safety where parents could keep watch over them. All in all it was a wonderful afternoon to celebrate an early Christmas get together with my besties.

Awesome experience and definitely great steaks! Local craft beer on tap. A perfect garden setting for outdoor drinks and eating or enjoy the old world decor inside which has a nice fire on during cold wintery days.

Haven’t been here for few years and it’s a beautiful spot. Everyone enjoyed their meals. One staff member was very rude to the point of being nasty, as couple of people late for the booking and pushing to order as the table is rebooked for 2 hours later. So if you like to linger for coffee after your meal this probably isn’t the place for you. One waitress was amazing and helped heaps, the other definitely not.
