The dishes are decent size. We booked a table on 7:30pm. Informed there were no more oysters and steaks.

Worth the trip to this amazing bowl of tastiness. Fresh, flavourful and good price. The mussel dish options were all equally fantastic. Paired our meal with a lovely local white wine. Over the moon that there was a gluten free option bread available.

Oysters were beautiful and fresh! Very generous servings of mussels Gorgeous beachside view ️ However there were a frightening number of flies right near our table which disturbed the ambience , and the Caesar salad was mid.

We booked a table after coming off the Ferry from Melbourne to visit the Portarlington Mussels Festival. Just a short walk uphill to the corner restaurant our table was waiting for us. Great place to catch up and have a fantastic meal. The Mussels chowder, Mussels in Chilli and Barramundi Fish and Chips were excellent. The King Fish Sushi with Chilli was divine. It was better than buying it in the Festival. For our large party of 16 we were treated to a gastronomic feast. Thank you Little Mussel.

We come by the Little Mussel Cafe every time we’re in the Bellarine. It is an iconic part of Portarlington and a crucial place to visit — just make sure you book over summer.

First time eating at “The Little Mussel Cafe”, and we came especially to visit on a chilly midwinter Sunday, after a day trip to the area.

Pretty good mussels and oysters were very fresh. Service was good as well, seating outside provided good views of the water. Only let down was that we called ahead and asked if they had tables that would allow dogs and we were told they did. Once we got there they told us dogs weren’t allowed at the tables. We managed to tie the dogs out the front while we ate so it wasn’t all bad.

Mussles were fresh but food are pricey, especially with 20% surcharge for public holiday. Seafood tower is small for $85.

Excellent cocktail, top shelf! Tried two kinds of mussels and they were both delicious. Staff were all lovely. My only issue was that it was a freezing day and although the heating was on, there was a lot a cold draught which came from the hallway, even though they closed the external doors. Another door to the restaurant space might alleviate the problem, we had our coats over our knees to stay warm.
