I love high teas and have had them in many countries, but mostly in London. This was average. The sandwiches were dry on one side, and the flavour was dominated by the overly generous butter. The scones were outstanding and the miniature desert’s delicious. They didn’t curated the food (normally they tell you all the sandwich and desert types). The place was half empty but the waiters rushed around which makes it less relaxing. Service was slow for us, but seemed hit or miss for others. The bill payment process was awkward, as you paid at the bar and had to get in line.

Service here was really good. I came here for hotcake by the photos shown on the website, not impressive, and was also average, but a big serve, I was so full with my strawberry hotcake. Don’t order too many as they don’t offer take away service Environment was nice in this heritage style building.

Have been to The Lab for their Chandon High Tea on more than one occasion with friends and it never disappoints. We were all very happy with the amount of food and the flow of beverages (water, tea, coffee & sparkling). We were fortunate enough to try Christina’s coffee and were all very impressed, it was delicious.
