We ordered garlic bread, seafood chowder, scallops and oysters. The food was delicious. The order taking lady had no smile at first when we ordered our food. When we were about to leave, my husband ordered a coffee, then she had her smile.

I should have walked out when I asked Mark what fish were good eating. His snarky, disinterested reply was ‘no idea, don’t touch the stuff’. I followed up with ‘what do the customers enjoy’ and he didn’t know. I should have looked through the other reviews because many mention rude staff, and it’s true.

Good service, hot fresh fish & chips (also fish can be bought fresh and cooked at home), for some reason my kids love the seafood bites with an unending passion.

Food was okay, nothing to write home about. Expensive, more expensive than Mures. Quite a dismal atmosphere, staff seem rude at first, but kind enough when taking our orders.

From start to finsh, It was poor. The female staff member that took our order was very rude. The food was terrible and extremely expensive. Again, the female staff member was rude on not 1, but 2 occasions. My wife and I will never go back.

Beautifully cooked fish. Definitely get the box deals, great value and quality then head to Stewart’s Bay to sit on beach and eat

Such a great location by the water. Eating here, the food really speaks for itself. The fish wasn’t oily, and the chips were delicious. They weren’t traditional thick potato chips, but I was happy with that as I’m not a fan of that type. By no means is the establishment flashy – as shown in the pics, but take it for what it is. Definitely would return when I’m back in Hobart.

If I could give this Fish cafe less than 1 star, I would. Fish and chips at 17.00 a serve were awful. The fried fish is the worst I have tasted, even the dog, who normally likes fish wouldn’t eat it. Still have a bad taste after eating it 40 minutes later. Chips were ok as was the frozen squid. As a local that lives close by, I realise prices are a bit higher given the sporting location, but the poor quality seafood is an absolute showstopper. Read both the good and bad reviews so was prepared to try as like to support local business; but given the experience I will NEVER be back.

I grew up in this area and returned after 10 years away and the prices were extremely expensive in my opinion.

My friend and I both had flathead from this shop and we both ended up with food poisoning. It was the worst fish we’ve had.
