Great atmosphere and nice staff but the food was abysmal. Seafood isn’t fresh and they appear to have an aversion to adding salt to their food.

Had a delicious lunch at The Captains Daughter. The veggie burger was tasty, with plenty of tasty fillings, including a large portobello mushroom which was thick and juicy. Sweet potato fries with smoky aioli and a chilli aioli were delicious. Great spot with a nice, cool sea breeze. Nice shaded area as well as plenty of outside space to sit.

Great to find some quality fish and chips here. Beers are good and the menu is quite extensive with options for everyone. They know their frier, so kudos with that. Prices are fair for the serves but I did miss some sauce on the side for the chips or the calamari, which comes lightly fired but lacks a hint of salt, pepper or sauce.

We tried it once and wouldn’t go back. We live local so thought we would go down in the afternoon for drinks and chips to share. Ordered a large chips and 2 drinks. The girl serving insisted we only order the medium as we wouldn’t be able to finish it (Spoiler alert we did finish them). We are in our late 20’s and as we live local we did not take any proof of age with us, it has never been an issue before. My partner did not get served and the girl serving was very rude to her about it. But she understood she was just doing her job. We sat and tried to enjoyed our chips but already feeling a little disappointed and the atmosphere was pretty boring we left and decided to sit on the beach with our chips and just go home. We were there probably 10 mins in total. Other places in town are a lot better and nice and the chips were pretty average.

Went for lunch and got 2 pieces of snapper, 1 cheeseburger, chips/potato scallops and two drinks. The best thing we ate was the dipping sauces. The fish tasted old and the crumb and batter tasted awful. The chips and potato scallops were very average, and may as well of got the cheeseburger from maccas. Giving 2 stars purely for the good drinks and table service. The food use to be very good there I don’t know what’s changed but I will not go again for a meal.

Popped in for lunch and drinks and left extremely satisfied. Great selection of food drinks. Full of flavour, great portion sizes and best of all really well priced. Will return when we are back up here next. Thanks to the staff!

This place has great food. They appear to have recently changed from chips to fries which is a real shame as their chips were amazing!!! But we’ll be back anyway as it’s a great place.
