We had a lovely dinner accompanied by live music. The restaurant was still full even we came after 8pm. Service was friendly and fast. We had prawn tomyum, papaya salad, fish floss with mango salad, chicken wings and two steam rice. The food was delicious. The ambiance was relaxing and we really enjoying our dining moment especially listening to the singer with his guitar. He has a good voice. We spent $90 for all those food, without drink or dessert cuz we were too full.

Very nice food, very crowded and got a small table so you have limited space if you want to try a couple different dishes. The staff were friendly and helpful, we will be back again for the food when we go back to Sydney next time.

You won’t miss this shop with its mouth watering display of Thai desserts at the front of the store. We enjoyed the pineapple fried rice for $30 which was an enormous serving size with juicy prawns and calamari topped with sweet pineapple chunks. The Thai milk tea is delicious albeit a bit sweet, so let the ice melt a bit. Mango sticky rice was great too.

Thanon Khaosan is a Thai restaurant located in Sydney that serves up classic Thai dishes in a lively atmosphere. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, from curries to stir-fries to noodle dishes, and the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. However, I have to say that I found the sweet dishes to be a bit too sweet for my liking. I tried the mango sticky rice and it was almost sickly sweet, which was disappointing.

I came here specially for the raw prawn & thai spicy fermented fish sauce. Ordered medium spicy level. The dish itself is great, but it still bit too spicey for me.

Must say THE best Thai food I v had in Sydney. Located on the boarder of Thai district downtown. With a desert stand at the door. Easy to spot.

Ordered the fluffy deep fried ling fish. Out came a plate of greasy deep fried fluffy flour stuff. I dug down into it looking for the fish. I found a few tiny pieces of white meat that may have been fish. The rest was greasy deep fried rubbish.

Good food with quick and friendly service. Portion is big. Only downside is the desert section is different so have to pay twice instead of one bill.
