Taqueria is a little stylish but still authentic to it’s roots. Drawing inspiration from the taco trucks and hole-in-the-wall taquerias that are scattered all over Mexico. These style of places usually have a perfected a small offering of a few menu items that they can delivery at lightning speed, almost always with a few secret ingredients and recipes that have been handed down through generations. Our head Chef Luis Zaleta, hails from Mexico City and is now sharing his Mexican Culinary knowledge with Cammeray. Serving up traditional slow cooked meats, fresh cooked seafood, vegan ceviche, tostadas, tacos and larger plates to be shared with good company.

Absolutely lovely staff but the food was below par. We ordered the 3 for $20 tacos and the filing was ok, but the bread was stale. Corn with cheese was not bad, but I wouldn’t be back just for that.

Love Mexican food? I was invited by @taqueria.cammeray to try out their delicious Mexican menu. Located in the Cammeray square shopping mall, this eatery serves a range of delicious ceviches, tacos, quesadillas and cocktails. Head Chef Luis Zaleta has put together a lovely menu from Mexico. Starting with some jalapeño margaritas and a pineapple mezcal cocktail, we then ordered some beautiful squid ink ceeviche. Chunks of fresh kingfish swimming in a mirror pool of black liquid was refreshing, full of lime and chilli zing. Spooning this on top of blue corn totopos was a pleasure. We then had delicious tuna tostadas and grilled corn elotes. For the mains we ordered a selection of beef and fish tacos freshly made. We then had their signature beef birria tacos with their beautiful chilli oil beef broth that you dip the tacos into. Top notch food and the service team were wonderful, friendly and attentive. If you’re in cammeray don’t miss this lovely Mexican eatery. Loved it. Lots of parking available free below cammeray square for 2 hours

They apparently close at nine thirty on a Thursday and we got there at quarter to eight and we were rudely told the kitchen was closing? Was keen to go here but unfortunately this is how good they are! Don’t go there unless you’re a baby who eats at six pm. Also food didn’t look good and it was empty
