Food is worth it for its price. It can quickly satisfy your Japanese cravings! The service crew seems to be unhappy with their jobs though since all of them are in very low spirits.

Amazing, consistent good food. Takoyaki is a hidden gem and pairs so well with the bbq sauce.

Came back here after 10 years. This used to be my go-to place to eat when I was a student due to its cheap price. I was impressed after all these years, it’s still only $8.50 for a small meal. Where else can you get such cheap meal? And I think their menu has expanded too, I saw more choices than back then. Had my favourite dish here, the miso katsu don. My husband had the karaage rice. It took a while for the foods to come. After so long not having meal here, I realised their tea is really nice, it’s rice tea which I feel quite rare to get in restaurants, it’s usually Chinese or jasmine tea so I really enjoyed this one. When foods came, we were impressed with how the foods look. The large karaage portion is generous. My miso katsu don still tasted beautiful, although I wished they gave more sauce. I also noticed the veggies used to be chopped lettuce, but now replaced by cabbage which is ok, not a big deal. But we were impressed with the quality of the food. The karaage and katsu chicken were nice and crispy outside, moist meat inside. After all these years, Taka has remained high quality for its price. I truly hope they keep this up. It’s nice to see a restaurant from 10 years ago still thriving and exist, since I noticed there are hardly any restaurants still standing after 10 years in Perth.

This place never changes, and that’s a good thing. I moved away 10 years ago and was happy to find it just as I remember. Cheap and delicious meals, help yourself sauces and tea, plus a convenient location just across from the central train station.

It’s my first time patronising this eatery. It can get quite stuffy and crowded during lunchtime. Turnover rate quite fast. ⁣

This unassuming restaurant exceeded my expectations for sure! They were sold out of sushi but I settled for the takoyaki ($4 for 5) and the fish fillet and rice meal ($8.50)
