Entree was nice the dipping sauce was great. The Tom yum was strong and I didn’t expect it so I should’ve chose noodles instead of rice but also because the rice could have been better unfortunately so I didn’t really enjoy my meal that much. The drink was interesting our first time trying sour plum and I liked it more than my gf. The second meal was good. The vibe of this place didn’t sit well with me either it made me anxious. Might give it another go and my review might increase.

This is a trusted restaurant if we ever have craving for Chicken Rice for over 2 decades now. We have mainly dined here for lunch with the occasional dinner.

One of the best-known restaurants in Perth for Hainanese chicken rice is Tak Chee House. Located in the heart of Northbridge, Tak Chee House has been serving up delicious chicken rice and other Malaysian dishes since 1988 in Perth. The restaurant is known for its mouthwatering Hainanese-style chicken rice, which is made from tender poached chicken served on a bed of fragrant rice that has been cooked with chicken broth that can be seen from the photos.

It is one of the most authentic Penang food places in Perth and probably the oldest. It’s been operating since 1987. I would recommend the Penang Char Keow Teow, hianan chicken rice, Prawn Mee (Fridays only), and curry laksa.

Itis indeed a small Malaysian restaurant attracts a devoted daily crowd for its down to earth, home-style food. The venue is nothing fancy with simple decor. Service is friendly and efficient. The signature dish here is Hainanese chicken rice and They serve up one of the best versions in Perth. Other favorites on the menu include Mee Goreng, Kuay Teow, Hokkien Fried Noodles, Roti Canai, and Curry Laksa. All popular and all delicious. Also keep an eye out for the daily specials.

This restaurant has been around for many years and is famous for serving one of the best Hainanese chicken rice dishes in Perth. It’s our go to place for chicken rice, although the amount of garnishing like bean sprouts have reduced and the chicken breast pieces can be somewhat dry and monotonous.

If you are craving some Malaysian Chinese food ok lar! Small cafe setup! Had the chicken rice… Rice undercooked and not so fragrance! Chicken tender but sloppy, too much watery gravy drown the meat!!! Tou geh! very miserable portion given! Chili on the sweet side!!! Soup bland!

one of my long time family favourites for chicken rice! this place has a very unassuming atmosphere but you can bet the food will be authentic. we got the steamed Hainanese chicken rice and a new menu item fried garlic chicken rice, which I think has tonkotsu sauce over it (the fried Hainanese chicken rice is also great!). all chicken rice dishes are served boneless which is what makes it great for me. the only thing I could say is that the rice could have been less dry, though other times I’ve been it has been fine. the loh bak and sambal kang kong was also excellent. each chicken rice serve comes with delicious chicken broth as well. the variety and consistency of the menu is what makes this place great, including classics like char kway teow, curry and laksa. there is also a good selection of canned drinks such as Yeo’s and Wong Lo Kat.

Okay we were really craving for something Singaporean / Malaysian after being away from home for so many days. So glad to have found this place and of course we had to have the chicken rice.
