Had a wonderful experience at Suminato! The food was flavourful and delicious, it also was fresh and served well! The staff were incredibly friendly and had great hospitality skills! The venue was neat and tidy and had great atmosphere! Overall I can highly recommend Suminato for delicious Japanese food and a great venue to socialise and meet with friends! It has to be a 5 out of 5 stars from me! I will be returning for sure!

Everything is soooo good here. Not a single Japanese restaurant in Sydney can match the food here. The staffs here are nice and attention to detail. A great place for a date, family and friends gathering as well. The only sad thing is that I’m only here for a few days.

The best Japanese food I have ever had, we had dinner there on our first night in Hobart and then again on our last night. Fantastic food from a Japanese chef and his attention to detail is excellent. Highly recommended.

Cosy Japanese restaurant. We ordered a lot of food cos we were hungry. The sushi rolls are good, sashimi hmm … it’s so so . Chicken karage was a tad bit disappointing. But I would say the must have , grilled scallops, misoyaki salmon roll, suminato roll, salmon creme croquette. The tempura cos have been less oily, it was alright . Overall we enjoyed, and according to my family who lives here, this was one of the better Japanese restaurant.

Very good modern Japanese food served here. Friendly quick service. We had the larger of the two banquets which was good value for the amount of dishes served. Very clean toilets here. Great place for casual dining or large groups. Would go back again.

I had a great time first time for lunch. Dinner is over priced. A small dish of 3 slices of tofu and finger nail sized eggplant costs $17 (shown in photo). The grilled eel was too salty. We left with our tongues stinging due to saltiness. The $9 tuna Hososushi roll was so tiny! For $9 I could eat 2 normal size salmon rolls anywhere!
