My partner and I had a delightful visit to Snowy Mountain Panda Hotpot last week. The Tom Yum and pepper chicken soup bases were outstanding, and despite being short-staffed, the atmosphere was charming, and service was impeccable with speedy food delivery. While the prices were a tad high for the portion sizes, it’s worth considering the remote location in Jindabyne. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

This is a day-light robbery. Fair enough you’d expect a higher-than-usual price in a holiday location. But this place takes it to a whole new level. $40 for a broth (ie water) before you even start picking your food. How audacious to even ask for that?

The people who left one-star reviews must have had something else happen in their day because the food and service here were perfect and exactly what you’d expect a hot-pot to be (maybe it was the first time for those negative reviewers and they didn’t expect a hot-pot to be what it is?)

We stayed at the Motel and thought we’d check Snowy Panda (Motel guests only) out. No published menu and the sign was in Chinese!!…only figured the menus once we made a booking and sat at a table…SERIOUSLY $40 for a pot of soup plain WITHOUT any other hot-pot ingredients added!! That’s ridiculous! We left and found plenty of other places where a meal was less than a plain pot of base-soup at Snowy Panda!
