I personally loved their blue swimmer crab rice, seafood rice, and margarita. Both rice are so flavourful. Blue swimmer crab’s portion is small but definitely worth to have. Combination seafood rice’s portion is reasonable. The togarashi salt definitely brings the margarita to another level. Don’t really like the roasted cauliflower with curry. Since the portion of most dishes is quite small, I would suggest not to come empty tummy. Otherwise you would end up like the 5 of us, ordering for the second round and overspent

Great food, welcoming staff and good atmosphere. However both of our allergies were not taken seriously. Two plates were brought out one after the other, both with sesame seeds. The waitress apologised and we were given the correct order. I have a shellfish allergy which was catered for however a small piece of what seemed to be shrimp was floating in my drink, luckily spotted before I took a sip. Other than this we enjoyed the food but this needs to be taken more seriously as someone could get hurt.

Brilliant stuff. Had the omakase menu. Good selection across the menu. And Aaron, the supervisor/ manager is an absolute machine. Hard working, great with customers, really made our night, go there now

Shosho is a sister restaurant to Shobosho, located in the inner suburbs serving a similar modern Japanese menu with a focus on tempura dishes. Dined here and ordered a number of dishes, majority of them from the tempura section of the menu. Most of the dishes were quite tasty; the tempura coating itself doesn’t have much flavour but comes with a different dip or seasoning to pair with. Highlight was the broccolini, onion rings and the shiitake mushrooms; very tasty and good portions. The perilla, scallop and finger dumpling on the other hand was too small; and the blue swimmer crab was disappointing as it was over seasoned with white pepper and the rice barely had any texture. Overall it was a good meal with some hit and miss but a bit too pricey for the dishes ordered. Service was good.

Service was very good and overall presentation was very appealing. Food was also very accomplished but not to my personal tastes on this occasion. I know the intents are probably different, but having dined at Shobosho, I found that to be much more satisfying. I will say though, that for our lunch, it was a thankfully quiet dining experience. Carpet on the ground, with softer furnishings than what is currently very trendy making this a venue very conducive to long catch up conversations with friends.

We came in with expectations that we will have delicious food but might leave hungry. We ordered the feed me menu option and not only was the food “knocked out of the park” delicious we left the place ridiculously, satisfyingly full. Great experience. To top it off our server Lawrence was friendly, informed, warm and perfectly relatable. Thanks for a great dinner experience
