A cute little Indonesian supermarket, connected to a restaurant. The place is found I. The heart of Brisbane city and it’s quite a gem. When you walk through it, it feels like you are not in Australia (I’ve never been to Indonesia, but I’d say it’s pretty authentic). There are a few narrow aisles filled with Indonesian pantry items, such as ABC sauce.

Looks and tastes like authentic Indonesian food. Either order off the menu or select from the Bain marie if you are in a hurry. I did the latter and the cabbage and bean curry, beef rendang and rice were excellent. However, the eggplant was pretty tasteless, maybe too long in the warmer. Lots of Indonesians and Asians eat here which is a good sign. With a ginger beer it was $25 which is pricey for food from the warmer but it was a public holiday so maybe there was a surcharge Worth a try if you like this style of food.

The food was nice but there could be improvements. The rice in all our dishes was mushy and the rendang was not tender. The food is more suited to western taste but a decent experience overall.

Pros : Flavors are really good! We ordered the Nasi Goreng, Beef Rendang , Eggplant Dish and a Beef Ribs Dish. Loved their sambal! Our favorite is the one with lemongrass. The only let down in terms of food wise was the eggplant cause it was tough and we thought could use more time to cook to be soft.
