My husband and I were blown away by the cuisine and overall experience of dining at Sardine. We thoroughly enjoyed dining on the deck listening to the native Rosella before they settled for the evening. What is so special about this place is the unique menu for each night. No two are ever the same! We highly recommend the degustation as this gives you the opportunity to enjoy the culinary expertise of Chef Mark Briggs.

The location was right across the water making it a great spot for a date or even a quick stop for a drink with a view. The service was pretty good too however the day we arrived the kitchen ran out of both the cheese and drink of choice which was a bummer. Apart from the small hiccup our overall experience was pleasant.

I haven’t make any review for a long time. But SARDINE Dining make me have to make this comment. I am not a professional gourmet, but the fine cuisine in this restaurant, I have not enough vocabulary to make the complement. Every dish have been prepared with thorough design and deep cooking experience. They are not heavy flavoured but every dish has their very good sense of hierarchy on taste.

I am totally blown away by the quality of the dishes here. This is definitely one of the biggest highlight in our trip to east Gippsland. Most of the dishes are something you won’t find in anywhere else, I believe they develop the recipe themselves. So it could be a bit hard to imagine what you get by looking at the menu. But they all came super delicious and we kept ordering more. Sardine is easily the best restaurant I have been to in Victoria. Please don’t miss this if you are visiting Paynesville. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful meal thank you. The waiting staff were professional and friendly. The food was superb. This really was Michelin star stuff. Particular highlights included the lamb, the porcini, and the kingfish. Truly excellent food and service. Have already recommended to my friends here.
