Holds the record for the most beer sold in a day !!! Celebrating the end of wwll. No mean feat considering refrigeration holding stock in such a great quantity. A great little pub . Cold beer served by a very lovely lady . There is a little restaurant and a nice open air beer garden . A top spot to spend an evening.

We arrived at 7.40 pm on a week night with no booking, knowing that the kitchen closed at 8 pm. Our orders were taken promptly, and we had our meals served less than 10 minutes later. I had the half serve of beer battered fish and you know its going to be fresh when the kitchen staff come out and ask the barman which tap to use to make the beer batter. The result was the best beer battered fish I have had in literally decades. Deep golden coloured batter, but very light, mega crunchy and not overly oily. Very generous serve of chips and very generous serve of salad with a yummy honey mustard dressing. My friend had the Big Burger-n -beer, which was also excellent. A thick home made patty, three slices of beetroot, tomatoes, salad, generous amount of bacon and a fried egg, with chips. This little country pub is a hidden gem, punching well above its weight with seriously speccy meals, that are perfectly cooked, very generous serves and not over the top pricing. If that wasn’t enough to convince you to try this pub, the friendly welcome, and the happy disposition of the staff is a clincher, we were made very welcome. We will definitely be back.

My phone died.needed my google maps so.went in to see if I could get it charged and had a couple of scotches whilst waiting..Wonderfully authentic little Australian pub between 2 towns. If the walls could talk..I could feel them trying. I could easily imagine horses being hitched to the front of it in older times..Mum was behind the bar with little 4 year old hugging her leg. If has modern trappings of today like large TV screen. Pool table. Loved it.
