Visiting Hobart for the first time in ages. Found Salento Cafè, in Hobart. A Colombian cafè. Wonderful place, great food. I enjoyed their Israeli Shakshuka. Very tasty. Loved the chilli and the combination of flavours. I also had the opportunity to try Colombian chocolate, served with a skewer of cheese. Rich and smooth no wonder Colombia’s chocolate is revered all over the World.

The scallop pies received today were cold and frozen inside. We were disappointed as we were looking forward to try our first scallop pie in Tasmania. The staff were very apologetic, they heated up the pie again for us after, and gave us a coffee on the house.

Loved this cafe! What a great find. Colombian-influenced – the coffee is Columbia’s and they have great Spanish/ Colombian dishes. The shakshuka (which is middle eastern) was amazing and the Spanish tortilla was super tasty. The actual cafe is cozy and quiet. Well worth a visit

A lovely place to eat! I had the chocolate milkshake and avocado smash and both were delicious. I really appreciated that a reusable straw instead of a paper straw was given with the milkshake. I was also impressed that the delicious bread of my sandwich was gluten free. The service has been great and my friend loved the drink she was recommended.

Nice service, well-located in Battery Point. However, my 3-star review bases on how I honestly expected much more of a real Colombian experience in Hobart (given the business name and the use of some Colombian names to define some of the menu items). The atmosphere, serving and flavors do not represent the name given to this place and the culture they might attempt to recreate.
