Fantastic food! Prawn Linguine, Beef Brisket Burger and Macaroni Cheese was selected by us, and it did not disappoint.

A place trying to be a fine food place without being fine. The menu on the table and the one on the internet does not match. Which made it hard for a celiac dinner in our group and not marked on the menu either.

What a gem of a place – headed into Cooma, and needing a driver reviver stop for dinner before continuing home, we searched up “best places to eat in Cooma” and this place was high on the list; I now understand why. It was truly amazing food in an incredible restored historic old building. The staff were attentive but not intrusive, and the meals were as classy as you’d get in any fine dining establishment. So glad we stopped here. Do yourself a flavour (pun intended) and come here for a meal sometime.

We stopped at 1861 last week while travelling through the area. The building (large corrugated iron shed) on the eastern side of the property was clearly closed and the building on the western side didn’t appear to have an entrance. We followed the parking sign to the rear but still weren’t 100% sure if they were open, or if we were even meant to be out the back. We ended up following other patrons who arrived through a small entry at the front and found our way in. The staff member was lovely. The portions well sized. I had the lamb rack and it was cooked perfectly. I wish we had more time to get starters but we had to keep travelling. The gardens are a great atmosphere and I can imagine the place looks spectacular during a function with all the lights and fires going.
