I arrived here at about 4:30pm and it was empty except for 1 staff member. I was thinking that I might stay overnight, but with no-one else camped there, I didn’t feel comfortable, so went to a free campsite at Calliope instead. Also the toilets are inside the pub, so not sure if they would be accessible overnight.

Food was good for a place in middle of nowhere. Service was average was quite disapointed in the way a young girl behind the bar was spoken to by an older woman who was running the bar. She literally left the girl taking Food orders speechless and unable to take the order of people in front of me or answer their questions as she looked about to burst into tears. Room was very cheap and basic but clean. Showers and toilets were separate and I used toilets but not Showers the lights were on timers and in a donga so if they went out, total darkness, they were also very unclean.

Customers and campers are apparently not wanted! We were planning to stay the night here and wanted a nice meal in the tavern in the evening. The employee suddenly came to the parking lot and was absolutely unfriendly to us and sent us away. She didn’t even greet us or anything, just said we had to go and then left. So we really never had such an unfriendly encounter! We didn’t even get a chance to talk to her or anything. We’re glad we didn’t leave our money there.

Had to wait while child staff serve customers took for ever, ( mother) by the look yelling an child staff member about getting things wrong (everyone has to learn) but unprofessional waited a reasonable amount of time the got the dinner order wrong had to wait longer an then attitude from staff because i wouldn’t accept it. Went to use the toilet facilities seat was broken an no paper to wipe hands,This is th 3 time ive stop there like this wont be again.

OMG so unfriendly people!!! We came and ask nicely if we could stay the night to sleep on the carpark (as written on WikiCamps or CamperMate) and even if it was empty in the restaurant and carpark the woman said “no there is people coming” : not sure about that. Looks like she prefers be on her smartphone instead of being nice. Bad for you we were about to stay and eat at this place. To be avoid

We are on the road from Longreach to Brisbane. Tried to get into a caravan park in Rockhampton with little joy. This little gem came up on WikiCamps and so glad we did not spend 70 dollars in a caravan park. We got a great meal and so great cold beers instead. It may be a little noisy from the highway but a small price to pay for the great hospitality that was shown to us.

Sent away at 1130 pm after a horrible few hours of being stuck on the side of the highway with no fuel. Ended up pulling over to sleep in a rest area up the road as continuing was too dangerous. If you’re after some humanity you won’t find it from the handsome barkeep of the raglan tavern.
