We love the creative spirit of modern Australian cuisine, so Oushou Japanese Restaurant created a fresh sushi & sashimi menu drawing from this as well as the izakaya and sushi bar style of dining – and we’d love for you to come and pay us a visit. Oushou Japanese Restaurant’s menu is bursting with a wide range of dishes, including our tataki & carpaccio, sake & whisky, taco, signature eye fillet steaks that are served with a mayo-teri sauce, gyoza, sushi and sashimi. Love the $59 set menu here. So fresh and delicate. They also have $2 oysters Sunday-Thursday if you spend over $40. They have two other restaurants that r also great. Service can be hit & miss. But today our service was good. But it was quiet. The salmon tacos are also enjoyable. We will return and recommend

I now have a new favourite Japanese restaurant. This one is stunning; both in decor and food. It’s got a very modern vibe to it, and all of us loved it. The food was also beyond delicious. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Where their service let them down was the length in time it took for food to come out. I got my entree first, but had to wait for the longest time for everyone else to get theirs. We came to eat out together, not watch each other eat one by one. Also, there was so much confusion by the waiter as to where each dish should go. At a restaurant of this calibre, they can do what others do and know in advance who orders what, especially after asking if we were sharing.

We love Oushou Brighton. We always get there early before everyone gets there otherwise too noisy for us when full house. The staff and service is brilliant. The kingfish sashimi is our favourite and the Oushou eye fillet and sushi mixed platter.

We have dined at both Brighton & South Yarra on many occasions, however, our booking on Tuesday night did not meet expectations. Despite emailing the restaurant and flagging our concerns on Wednesday afternoon, we have not had a response from the owner or manager. At $315 for 3 people, I would have expected a better response and better as we are regular patrons. Service was slow, drink service was slow and food was lukewarm at best. Barramundi dish has been halved without a reduction in price. Very disappointing and worse that no-one has responded to my online query. Not good.
