We made a detour on our way to Gippsland from Sydney specifically to come to North End. Did not disappoint at all. Bushman’s pie was delicious and I can taste why they have been awarded Australia’s Best Vanilla Slice. Gonna have to come back at Easter by the looks of things!

Mushroom and garlic pie had SO much garlic I couldn’t taste the mushroom. It was awful. Would NOT. Recommend if you like mushroom pies. Pastry was nice but still burping up garlic hours later. Yuk!

I always find it amazing when you ask for a Chai Latte, the owners know about what it is, yet tell you they don’t have it. So they are saying we don’t want your money. However, the Vanilla Slice was worth the detour for.

Good variety of pies and slices. Vanilla Slice rated as No1 Aust wide but you need to like crusty pastry. Not my preference. Book ahead if you are going later in the day to be sure you get one.

Vanilla slice was awesome. Beautiful Creamy Custard and crispy pastry with lovely icing. I had a pulled pork and apple sauce pie and my husband had the pulled mushroom and mac cheese pie which we loved. We made a detour to Shepparton just to come to this bakery on our holiday from Adelaide and we’re glad we did. Highly recommended.
