Another great place for delicious dumplings. The chilli wonton was my favourite it had a tasty hint of peanut butter. The Xiao long Bao had so much soup inside definitely recommend that too. Great price and good portion

My husband and I had 1 each of the steam pork dumplings that were luke warm. We discovered they were pink and fleshy inside. The waitress confirmed they were raw, apologised briefly and took them away. 10mins later she returned with a replacement but did not offer a refund. We were still charged full price for the meal even though they served us raw pork. I am currently hoping that our weekend is not completely ruined by food poisoning or any serious medical outcomes as we had already eaten one before finding out they were raw. My appetite is completely turned off for this franchise and I will not be returning to New Shanghai, or any of their branches. Terrible customer service and experience.

Up until maybe two years ago, this place was phenomenal. I decided to go there as I had such good experiences in the past, however, I was quite disappointed by it. The food was just very bland. There was not enough sauce on the noodles we ordered and name with the shepherds purse with peanut and chilli oil. I used to come especially here for these dishes as I felt they cooked them very well but it was ‘okay’ this time round. The service staff are much nice than they used to be, however, you also have to do ordering using a QR code so it felt like a fast food restaurant rather than a regular restaurant.

Went with a large group of friends and ordered a bunch of dishes and none disappointed! Highly recommend the slow braised pork belly, wheat gluten with black mushroom, shanghai noodles with spring onion, shepherd’s purse rice cake stir fry and any of the dimsum.

Shanghai is THE BEST Chinese food I’ve ever had!! The servers are so friendly and check up on you, if we forget to order something they are always happy to add it in. The way they set up this restaurant is like you’re actually in a Chinese alleyway. When you want to order you tick off boxes on a piece of paper with all of the menu items listed. Not only is this smart but it is also a great way to make sure you ordered everything you want to eat. Five stars all round!!

Food was not bad or good – it was edible and could not complain about it. It wasn’t life changing or terrible. Service was ok. Just an average experience. Edamame was cold, didn’t mind that but they are usually warm.

The zhajiangmian was a bit lacking in flavour, and for the price paid it wasn’t quite justified. That being said, the restaurant is nicely done up and very clean. The staff were quite friendly, although, trying to call for their assistance was quite difficult and the ordering process was quite hit and miss.

One of the best dumpling makers in Sydney. Worth eating here, worth walking in.
