Our first dining experience at Mosconi was bitter sweet. The presumed owner greeted others with familiarity and smiles and chatted while we waited for them to finish. Shortly after he finished his conversation, he let us know that our table will be at he bar with a cold stare. He then said it’s that outside because we are fully booked. This didn’t give us the warm welcome or pleasant experience we envisioned.

Friday night dinner last week was incredible. Was in town catching up with a mate and we’re lucky enough to be seated without a booking (sorry).

What’s not to adore about this gem of a place? I absolutely adore Mosconi! Our visits here have become regular, and we keep returning for one simple reason – the food is exceptional! The dishes are bursting with flavor and freshness, and the seafood Tagliatelle pasta is nothing short of heavenly. Pair that with their delightful wine selection, and you’ve got yourself a winner.

It’s always scary coming in with expectations, unfortunately this was one of those experiences that fuels the fear. The space is pleasant, although perhaps more so if you’re seated downstairs. The pleasantries also tend to wear off during a 2 and a half hour wait for entrees and mains. The hunger of the evening is memorable. The service was good, there when you needed it, but it felt a bit hurried and the specials run down felt like an announcement – a little off putting. The menu is enticing, but the prices are noticeable. The confit rabbit and beef tartare… no questions asked, just beautiful plates of food all round. Quail? good, tender, but had me searching for more accompaniments. The pork cotoletta, was disappointing, as much so for its weight in my stomach as what was on the plate. $46, perhaps justified by the volume of meat, but I just can’t see how that much is necessary for anyone. Good describes the meat, just crumbed the cotoletta , simple for the ’celeriac, radicchio, necartine’ (the lure, so unexpected showing up as a slaw). The sauce, unremarkable. Overall, reminiscent of $25 pub schnitzel. Also not exactly practical for squeezing the lemon wedge sitting in sauce that was propping up the cotoletta. Pastas were good, the ingredients did taste very fresh. The dessert? certainly, interesting, appreciable subtle flavours but ultimately I found the delicate flavours were overpowered by a weird cidery/ tangy fermented fruit flavour.

Absolutely wonderful lunch experience. All the dishes were amazing, I think my favourite was the bug tagliatelle. The duck ravioli was also excellent. Chocolate tart was very yum and a great way to finish the meal. Large wine selection and great service too. The ambience is classic and sophisticated, I would definitely come back again!

The atmosphere and ambiance are always spot on, and the service we have experienced makes one feel as if you are their most important customer. Of course, if the food wasn’t perfectly prepared up to par with the ambiance, we could not give them 5 stars. Obviously, it is. And presentation is spot on. We have not had a bad dish there. We were regulars when we lived there and we are returning to Brisbane soon. We already have bookings!

Everything is 10/10 We are absolutely in love with their food. We really never thought we could have stunning Italian food right here in Brisbane until we tried Mosconi. It was exceptional.

Beautiful space, incredible flavours and most probably the best fresh made pasta in town! We’ve been twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner and each experience was just as amazing as the next. Having a team of lovely and friendly waitstaff also makes all the difference to any dining experience.

3.5 ⭐ – Understaffed, super slow service and unattentive staff made the dining experience average. We were there for a total of 3 hours, super unimpressed as waitress refused to take food orders when we were ready but insisted on taking drinks orders first.
