Secluded spot up the stairs but spacious upstairs in the main restaurant. Recommend booking, even for a Monday night as it gets busy. Food took a bit of time to deliver and margarita drinks were average. Nachos are good portion for 2 people.

Absolute banging experience on father’s day. The new chef sure knows what he is doing. The Birria tacos and Dessert tacos were a perfect 10. You could not fault them $5 Stoney’s and $10 Margy’s top top it off I would give 6 stars if I could. What are you waiting for get 9n down to Mexicali tonight

$45 for 90 minutes of bottomless margaritas? It doesn’t get much better than that! I was worried at this price, the margaritas would just taste like lime and sugar syrup, but I can confirm these drinks were delicious and strong! We also did the mexicali banquet for $34.00 per person and the quantity/quality of food was so impressive! I am also pescatarian and they brought out dietary substitutes for all menu items with meat in it. Overall super happy with the experience and definitely recommend as a fun night with friends.

Our go-to Mexican on the GC. Food is consistently fresh and delicious, service and atmosphere are always great. Pricing is reasonable and the venue feels relaxed – a great choice for a fun night out or family dinner. It does get very busy/noisy at times so we go early when taking younger children. For big groups the banquet seating in their private room is fantastic. Cannot fault Mexicali and we’ve been at least a dozen times!

If you like it loud and laid back, this is your place! Didn’t have a meal here but the food looked amazing. I hear one of the chefs here, Shane Fargis, is one of the most sought out chefs in the Gold Coast with experience working in just about every kind of restaurant you can imagine. Quite a character too!

We had a good experience, even tho we had to eat at the bench instead of a table. Was fine in the end. All the food was amazing apart from the pork taco, wasn’t pulled pork and very dry and hard.

We celebrated our friends birthday here and had the banquet and drinks package. Sinead was our waitress and she was lovely! She was fun and proactive and made sure everything was perfect. We sat outside at the high table. There were quite a few big parties happening so it was very lively. The food was great and came out consistently throughout our afternoon and the drinks were replenished as soon as our glass was empty. It was exactly the experience we were looking for. We will be back!
