Decent overall – Mela serves good Indian food, and they have many options for vegetarians. However the prices are high (and even then the curries dont come with rice as standard) and the service is a bit slow.

It’s shame how it’s always so hard to find somewhere where both the food and the service are great.

We eat at Mela once a month. Every time we eat there, we totally enjoyed our dishes. It’s always tasty and good portion. Highly recommend to groups or romantic date nights! The atmosphere is not noisy and table settings are nicely done. From food, the ambience and services all 10/10! Thank you to the chefs who cook such delicious Indian dishes to satisfy our palates and the staff for giving us an amazing service each time!

Mela used to be a regular place to eat for us a few years ago so it was nice to revisit after a long time. The place has had some renovation and looked good with a new bar area. The more formal section of the restaurant which used to be at the back is now sealed off. Whilst things have changed in the restaurant the food is still great. Tandoori chicken was melt in the mouth whilst the butter chicken was sweet and tasty. I had the non veg thali which offers a great selection of dishes to enjoy all of which were delicious. Mela has a great selection of Indian sweets that you can buy for $3 each or you can choose what you want in 500g/1kg boxes which works out cheaper. Parking in Northbridge is the usual pain but Mela is well worth a visit.

Obvious choice of restaurant for Indian food located in north bridge. Fine dining experience with lots of options, starters, main course. Parking can be a challenge therefore go before it gets busy or allow 10 min extra to find a good parking spot.

I ordered fried rice for 2 people, expecting that would be the least spicy dish to eat among the other Indian dishes. It was soaked in chilli sauce, very less veges in it. Could not eat more than few spoons. Masala tea was nice but because of chilli sauce and red chilli soaked rice, the burning lips could not handle the hot tea. We just donated $45 for nothing and came out with burning lips, tongue, oesophagus and stomach. Felt like inner lining of stomach was peeling out due to it. If concept was to make better food by adding chilli in it, better serve whole chillis with sauce and save time in food preparation.I still cant get my head around and understand using that lot of chilli in a simple veg fried rice
