The BEST Japanese place in town. We recently discovered Maneki and now it’s our go to place. The atmosphere is so calming, light and cheerful. The staff are friendly. The food tastes delicious and so fresh. We love everything about this cute little restaurant.

Apologies that i’m doing just 3 star rating, but i need to be honest: this is not Japanese. Yes, it is pretty hard to keep up to Japanese standards in other countries, when you are limited with supplies, and ingredients. It is a lovely little cozy cafe, i assume a family owned. But when you walk up to order and turns out that the Hot pot is only seasonal, and Udon is not available that basically cuts a good chunk out of the menu. And let’s be honest but chicken rice rolls are not Japanese cuisine. We had to order plain ramen, which was super plain, ie just broth, ramen, corn and spring onion.

Sad and disappointing bento box ordered thru uber – there was no proper description or images to guide decision. Certainly the meal that turned up looked nothing like the one stock photo they used (which had fresh, colourful food on display). Cost 25 dollars for a small amount of katsu chicken, plain rice, beans and 2 mini spring rolls. Am used to buying (for less cost) bento that includes at least a selction of gyoza or sushi in addition to main meat & a variety of sauces & salad or seaweed of some kind. Was boring and blah.
