Social Profile:

Come get a slice of Italy at Canberra’s hottest pizza joint. Located in a ‘cosy’ strip (cosy being the operative word) next door to Edgar’s, freshly made wood-fired pizza is served out of an imported Forno Bravo pizza oven. Controlling this beast is master-pizza maker and Italiano, Giovanni Auzino. Hailing from the city of pizza, Naples, Gio brings his secret family dough recipe to the shores of Australia and into the heart of Canberra. Whilst the major part of the business is hot takeaway pizzas, we do have limited seating inside and out so get in quick if you want to dine in.

Pretty tasty pizzas – base/crust personally was a bit much for my liking, but the toppings were quite nice. However for almost $30 a pizza, they are a bit steep.

We hadn’t been to Mama Dough in a few months and were looking forward to having their pizzas again. Unfortunately the pizzas we got tonight were disappointing in quality. The toppings were scant (compared to the photos on their online menu) and the crust was incredibly thick and chewy. It actually hurt to chew by the 3rd slice. I feel like the quality doesn’t justify paying $26-$27 per pizza.

This was my favourite place before. I used to introduce this place to everyone I met. Not anymore! The quality has reduced exponentially and no respect for customers whatsoever.

Service & Settings: cute seating inside with outdoor heaters, there’s also ample of seating outside. Lovely service (they do phone orders) although there is a bit of wait (about 20-25mins)

EDIT: I used to go every second week, until I witnessed one of the pizzaiolos making pizza, sick and with snot dripping onto his shirt. I’m not about leaving an angry review, so I wrote to the venue about health, safety and sanitary conditions but I’m disappointed to report they have not replied or tried to get in contact. The pizza may be good, but I’m not eating there until I’m convinced that they’re being made under sanitary conditions.

We ordered 2 pizzas expecting them to be amazing pizzas from the reviews. And this was the worst pizza we have ever had. The pizza was thick and soft (no crunch at all) it felt like I was eating just mushy dough. Absolutely disgusting and will not order here again!

We had a wonderful surprise here in Canberra when we found this nice easy going spot serving a good quality wood fired pizza. We tried the four cheeses and the Margherita. Prices are also a good deal.
