I was super excited to have a ” Best of British” meal. Place was easy to get to, parking easy enough. Place was presentable and clean. Was so looking forward to the “real chips”. I ordered fish and chips with a side of curry sauce and gravy. The food came in little cardboard boxes. The chips were actually frozen chips deep fried to within an inch of their lives so we’re quite dark brown and crispy like crisps. The little fish was nice. Gravy was Maggi gravy and the curry sauce I don’t even know ♀️. I really needed a cup of tea, but unfortunately they don’t even serve hot drinks, apparently they stop those from 2pm. Crazy for a Best of British evening. So absolutely super disappointed. Sorry I came. Definitely FALSE advertising would not recommend, seriously don’t waste your time.

Once upon a time Lizards was a good place to go and eat, now it’s not. Our food was not nice, the fish was over oily, the tartare sauce had some form of chilli in it and got no warning from staff or menu, the mushroom gravy had vinegar or lemon hit to it and didn’t taste nice at all, the staff had an air of rudeness around them. Was not a good experience at all.

Went here to try the Best of British menu. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. The staff were friendly and service was reasonably quick. Prices were ok, but the food itself not great. The cod in batter was cooked perfectly, but the chips were not hand cut and tasted quite stale. The mushy peas were ok. My friend tried the sausage in batter which was ok, but she would not order again. The gravy was inedible.

Walked in out of the blue to find out they have an excellent buffet menu. Great selection of mains, soups, salads and desserts. Also includes soft drinks (premixed)

Stop in for a beer and grab a feed as well. Well appointed areas for enjoying oneself no matter your preferences, indoors, outdoors, in the gaming area or have a punt on the ponies. The food is great and the beers are cold, a welcoming place for all to enjoy. If you’re in Darwin City make sure to stop in, you won’t be disappointed.
