I have been coming to Kinoko for over ten years. The food is always great. Can’t fault it!

We had a quick lunch there and ordered the soba soup with tempura prawns on the side and Japanese chicken curry. The food is presented well and delicious. The service is good, and the staffs are friendly. Overall, it was a good lunch.

My partner and I love their food. It’s our favourite grab and go. The crunchy salmon rolls are very addictive, I have one and then immediately three more. So good! Also love the crew, hard workers and good vibes 100%

Food is delicious but servicing was confusing. Wasn’t sure if they serve you or you pick up your order at the chef’s turn table. Servicers are nice but busy you feel like you are inconveniencing them if you ask for something. Downside the side salad is drowned in dressing but it tasted good, didn’t get my water until I asked twice and that was after I got my meal. Ordered hot tea they only serve it by the cup and not by the kettle so getting another cup never came. The Dragon roll which was great but mayo was wrong and they didn’t have spicy mayo, too bad still a great rating in itself I would say 4.5. But Ready to go and never got the other cup of tea. Whole experience a 3 sorry to say.

Staff were lovely but thats about the only positive i have. The sushi train is an absolute rip off, $6.70 for a plate of 3 measly pieces of sushi, most trains have atleast 4 and are around $5 max. Then the chicken curry had no flavour and the world smallest amount of chicken. Do not recommend

Great service but felt there weren’t a lot of choices of dishes for fish and shellfish, but there are good veg and vegan options. Service was very good and food was good, but lack of variety is why only a 4.

I ordered a la carte and the presentation of the dishes were impressive. However, there was minimal attention paid to other as important elements such as flavours and textures. The feel of the restaurant is oriental but I would not refer it to as a Japanese restaurant as there are things here and there that are definitely not Japanese. The dishes tasted ok but not authentic. Overall the dining experience was not bad, a bit on the pricey side for what you get.

Been here twice now, once for dinner and once for lunch, most recent was lunch and we sat at the train bar, reasonable sushi selections perhaps a bit more expensive than others I’ve been too but hey it’s Byron Bay. Worthwhile for a visit if you’re looking for Japanese
