Amazing food. Friendly hosts. Colorful lights. Khems kitchen is an authentic Thai experience in lara, Vic. My girlfriend and I have been to many Thai restaurants around greater Melbourne and the CBD but none can compare to this little gem near Avalon airport in terms of the quality of their food. So next time you fly from there, don’t forget to stop by this quaint place to gorge on Thai food and watch the trains roll by. Bring your coats though since it’ll be an outdoor experience.

Fantastic food. Authentic experience. I rate this as the best Thai food I’ve had in Australia. Served from a little food truck with an outdoor dining area which feels very much like a hawker stall in Asia. Prices are good. Bargain considering the quality.

This little Lara gem is tucked away on Mill Road. I thought it was a kebab van but they have the most extraordinary Thai food. It’s so good I sms back two nights in a row. Great service, food AMAZING and even a fire pit! It’s not fancy but it’s good wholesome tasty street food and we’re very lucky to have Kem’s in Lara. Give it a go!

Curiosity of the lights and visible seating around a cosy open fire drew me in as I drove past. I had no idea what to expect when walking up to the van through the gazebo garden. My initial thought was kebabs or the usual fried foods sitting in a bain marie. To my surprise I was welcomed by a Thai lady, offering a menu. I ordered chicken skewers with peanut satay and Roti bread and enjoyed vegetable and ham soup while I waited.
