Service was slow, atmosphere very basic food was lovely. It was our first time there celebrating my birthday but the vibe just wasn’t there unfortunately. Seems like they prefer to speak to regulars. Went on a Saturday night and patrons dressed in tracksuits so I felt a little overdressed. Very small establishment probably won’t go again due to my experience.

Two of us came to Irori Japanese Restaurant in Brighton on a Tuesday evening for dinner. Despite a small range of main meals, we enjoyed sharing several side dishes including the pork gyoza, prawn California sushi rolls, fish tempura and yakitori (photos included). The food was really tasty, and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. If I can think of any feedback for the restaurant, I think the menu could be improved with the inclusion of photos. It did seem like quite a ‘Western’ menu, as there was no Japanese script or photos, which is quite unlike the authentic Japanese restaurants. Additionally, the prices were quite exorbitant, so be prepared for that. I understand they are matching the price of neighbouring restaurants, and to reflect the increasing inflation of the current economy. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and the delicious Japanese food. Thank you!

Authentic Japanese foods lovingly prepared by sashimi expert Chef. The best sashimi and sushi I have experienced, sashimi was sooo fresh even better than Nobu’s sashimi. Family owned business so pls be patient and allow time when dining there. Booking is highly recommended. Arigatou!

Very fresh and authentic Japanese food. Love the Golden Roll – tempura crisps around maki rolls.

That was very nice and we had been here for few times already! It’s good to come and eat every single week. But there’s always a queue when you want to eat at dinner time.

This place is good but not excellent. We arrived just as it opened and were attended to quickly, but as dinner progressed, they filled up and were so busy they never came by after doing off the food so we couldn’t ask for more tea or water and had to finally flag someone down to get our bill. The sushi itself was presented nicely. The fish was good but not great and the rice was cold and firm like it was the leftovers from yesterday.

Food okay just – service very stressed, didn’t get Sake, couldn’t really manage dietaries – more interested in takeaway clients. Need to chose which they are doing.
