Was so excited to try teppanyaki for the first time for my birthday. We prebooked arrived at the restaurant, we shown to some seats which had no cooking surfaces near us and the only close one only just visible to three people out of our 7 the rest were unable to see as there was a large pole blocking the view. Sat there for about 20 mins before a few plates were brought out of 2 deep fried spring rolls, some chicken thigh deep fried and some deep fried prawn things. A bowl of plain rice and perhaps the worst miso soup I have ever had. I then asked one of the staff members if they could clarify how everything was supposed to go as we had been told nothing up to this point. Then I asked if we were going to be moved for the show part to which we were told no. Ruined the whole night for us. The food was brought over to us as if we were dining at a normal restaurant. It may not be a lot of money to some people but we saved up to get to experience teppanyaki and yet all we got wAs bad food. When I again told them I was unhappy they said someone would come out to talk to us and perhaps do some sort of show so we could at least see it. We ended up paying and leaving 30mins later. No one did anything. There was other peoples half eaten food everywhere around us the whole time and a dog walking through the restaurant. We won’t be coming back here. Just so disappointed.

Had a very wonderful experience tonight for our anniversary from a deal from Groupon! It was so worth it, the food was delicious with generous portions and the show/service was splendid. Would highly recommend coming here, definitely the best value teppanyaki at Surfer’s Paradise!
