Guyala [pronounced goo-ya-la] is the local indigenous Gimuy language group (including Gimuy Walubara Yidinji) word for the White Breasted Sea Eagle and is also the name of the mountain range embracing the Southern side of Trinity Inlet. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land our cafe is on, and believe language is an important key to maintaining and celebrating culture. We serve thoughtful food with an emphasis on indigenous and local ingredients, as well as creating a delicious flavour balance. International culinary influence is the philosophy of our menu. Plant-based and gluten-free options are available.

What a lovely place! Had lunch there with Eggs Benedict with Kangaroo and Smoked Duck Noodles. Both dishes looked amazing and tasted equally good. Service was very friendly, kept checking up our water and how everything was for us. Would definitely recommend for lunch!

The place looks lovely and the food is really well presented, but unfortunately isn’t as good as it could be. The flavours are unusual which is really nice but it feels like they are trying too much for some of the dishes and it fails to blend the flavours well. The carrot cake also didn’t seem fresh, which was disappointing.

We went first for the Coffee… amazing and back for a meal and more Coffee. We had good morning Vietnam and the Rooben . So delicious, fine dining in a relaxed Cafe atmosphere with beautiful views. The staff are super friendly. Will be going back.

We enjoyed it so much we went back a second time in just a few days! The food is amazing, the staff so friendly and even the indoor and outdoor seating areas are lovely. Also dog friendly! Great barista, Alex! Eristine was lovely and remembered us from our last visit. I would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back.

Highly recommended! Very attention to detailed cafe. The environment is peaceful and modern. It is not easy to find that kind of style cafe in cairns. Staff are really friendly, greeting with sunny smile when we got in but unfortunately couldn’t get her name. For the foods, the truffle toasted was okay, it is up to standard. But the pork belly one is really blow my mind. Everything on the plate are making your taste super balance. Not too oily and not feeling too much to have it in the breakfast.

We had excellent coffee here after the Park Run along the Esplanade on Saturday. Lovely place to sit with a nice view. Dogs are allowed to come along on a lead, which was an added bonus! Will definitely come back again.
