What a little quaint cafe in Canberra that also resembled the 60s. The service and food were extremely quick. Coffee was good! I ordered the French toast and it was very tasty. Liked the use of fresh fruit. Would’ve preferred a slightly thicker brioche. Also I asked for hash brown as a side. Make sure your specify on a separate dish as they placed it onto my coulis.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Gus Cafe, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee hits you as soon as you walk in, instantly setting the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The baristas were not only skilled in crafting the perfect cup of coffee, but they also exuded warmth and friendliness that made me feel right at home.

Plenty of seats, waiting time is fairly okay. Great coffee, we also tried the matcha latte (they only have with soy milk).

We came into the city today and decided we would go and have brunch at an old favourite. Everything was so perfect. We sat in the warm sun with outdoor heaters making it feel like it wasn’t a winter morning and enjoyed perfect coffee and bacon and egg rolls. We don’t sit to eat that much because it’s a tough ask on our little boy who has a number of disabilities but today he was hanging out with his grandparents. We went to pay and the owners had paid our bill. That was humbling, kind and very emotional. Thank you and thank you also for keeping this place so authentic- with the same atmosphere I remember when we were a lot younger

On a recent whirlwind trip to Canberra this place was the beacon for our breakfast needs. I love the retro vibe with marble columns and steel tables, the coffee is seriously good and the food was delicious. Highly recommended and charming

I have came to Gus twice. The coffee was nice. How ever the food is hot and miss, the wait sits you down with out even giving you time to look at the menu ask what you want, I said I need to have a look at the menu. He did this on both days. The food it self was ok but nothing special, the breakfast burger would of been nice however ,they gave me a old brioche bun the avo was tasting way over ripe it was awful, way to much sauce. Ruined my meal!
