Welcome to Sawtell’s newest ‘old school’ not just a takeaway joint! Fries On The Side opened in October 2020 to service the Sawtell and surrounding areas. In our opinion, there’s nothing better than a hot meal or snack after a swim or a surf at stunning Sawtell Beach.
Fries On The Side mixes old school favourites like the classic Chiko Roll, with new flavours (Disco Fries, anyone?!). So, whether you feel like a juicy house made beef burger, delicious seafood or a quick, tasty snack, you’ll find it all at Fries On The Side.

Seafood was cooked to perfection (even though they were busy) and the hamburger was delicious. Service was a little lacking, but to be fair, it was a busy lunchtime period. Definitely recommended.

The burgers and fries are good, but I wouldn’t recommend the beef brisket as it’s very chewy. It’s advertised as 14hr brisket, but nah. The original burger is tasty though.

Parking out the front! Wow. So, in we went. Came away with the best fish and chips for a long time. Great way to round off a Sunday.

Paid $57 for overcooked stringy calamari and fish. A burger which was ok with chips and gravy. We got a $20 refund for said cardboard fish. Do yourself a favour and go to bananacoast seafoods at toormina /seasalt, or the coffs coop. From prawn trawler owner that likes a bit of fish and chips
