was very disappointed went to this restaurant. First time in Cairns as an islander I was excited to go here. very disappointing there were groups of young people working there waited for nearly two hours to get my food. almost after an hour of waiting someone came to me and said there was no mussel and someone has to run to get it where it nearly 9pm i came there around 7.(I was like what the heck). They didn’t even spread the table cloth properly at my table and they gave the wrong sauce for my seafood platter. i ordered for rice and they brought chips and i told them straight that i didn’t order for fries and she didn’t even say sorry and just walked away and brought the rice with angry face . Filthy pathetic customer services. Make sure you serve every customers equally.

Do yourself a favour and pre-order your meal if you are ordering the bigger meals to save waiting times. Upon arrival we were shown to our table and given gloves, napkins and cutlery. The food came out within a couple of minutes and we were super excited to dig in. Whilst the food did not disappoint and was super tasty, my only complaint is that we had to pay an extra $50 for the mudcrab. The food itself was delicious with a good variety of shellfish and a generous serving of vegetables and coconut sauce. We ordered the Kahuna meal but next time will definitely try the Village Boil.

We came in for a quick pub dinner, only to find the Freshies Island Grill! The menu options are incredibly affordable with huge portions of excellent hearty food. We left with full tummies and happy hearts – the family running Freshies are a true treat and Cairns is so lucky to have a genuinely great dinner venue!
