I absolutely love Freddy’s but ordering takeaway tonight I was really disappointed with the pizza. The vibe and staff are all fantastic but we spent $29 on the Shepards pie pizza and received something akin to a topper. I might as well buy the sheep myself for the amount of lamb they added and good luck finding any mint. Unless the dough and sauce are made of gold I can’t justify the price.

freddys! such a bustling and fun sport for some delicious italian and some with a little twist – nduja on pizza, gorgonzola croquettes etc. service is really really prompt, friendly waiters always willing to help, which can be hard for bigger groups! its a small but cosy and dim environment, sets a nice warm tone which is sometimes hard to find on the hectic chapel st. food is also really great. i find the food has been more enjoyable here when i’ve visited as a 2 rather than in a bigger group, but that can be expected as its hard to time fishes to be ready all together. antipasto platter was faultess and very good value for $23! paying mostly $35 for a plate of cheese at wine bars these days…..croquettes also so tasty and hot (we ordered an extra serve of sauce to dip our crusts in!) mussels you cant go past! one of their best dishes. served with a generous amount of broth and so more-ish. we always order this. mains were not as good but still yummy. pastas tasted fine and generous servings, but similar to the pizzas were served cold/seemed to be sitting out a little. however quality of the pizza dough was great, thin and light – just would’ve liked a little saucier! salad good too. one pizza was forgotten from our order but this was rectified immediately and not a problem at all! thanks for having us again Freddys, we always love it!

Saw the high ratings and decided to try this place when we coincidentally found a rare parking spot right in front of the restaurant. We might have ordered the wrong dishes but we felt that the pizza and the pasta was just average. Pizza dough was a little thick to our liking and the spaghetti had this interesting combination of zucchini and prawn but the sauce failed to elevate these toppings together. Service is friendly and quick.

was excited but so disappointed when it arrived. A cold pizza with the wrong toppings. i’m allergic to zucchini so i couldn’t even eat it but my partner tried and the middle was so soggy that it would come apart. so messy

Great food and atmosphere. A little less than attentive service but I think that was just because they were very busy and I was seated at the corner of the bar. Antipasti plate was huge (ordered the small between 2) which was actually so great and pizza was delicious. Staff were all really lovely seemed genuine. Will definitely be going back

Great pizzas, friendly staff. This is what hospitality should be about. Easy to book online and we were greeted at the door by a lovely waitress who made us feel at home. The staff were more than willing to share knowledge about the menu and make recommendations based on your appetite and palette! The pizza was absolutely delicious. Nice springy dough with crispness that wasn’t burnt but just right. The mushroom risotto which was a special hit the spot!

Had high hopes for this venue as all the reviews raved about the food but the pizza really let me down. It was just so sloppy. My dad advised that this is the style of pizza in some parts of Italy so maybe this is personal preference. The homemade gnocchi was good but nothing amazing. Same for the calamari. However, the panna cotta was delicious! Really enjoyed it. There were also some really great wine options and the waiters were prompt and friendly. Love the design on the menu.

The pizzas were really good! The gnocchi was not to my liking. Loved that they had plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. The place was nice and quiet when we went for an early dinner but got a little loud later in the evening

One of the best Pizza experiences in Melbourne!!! The staff are amazing, the pizzas are epic, just like going to your best mates place for dinner. The deep fried Mozzarella and Mortadella bites are an absolute must.
