In Mexico, a ‘fonda’ is a home that a family have opened up to their local community as an unofficial restaurant, bringing people together over delicious home-cooked food. Inspired by the fondas of Mexico, we’ve designed our restaurants to make everyone feel at home, with a menu that blends the best Mexican street food flavours with the freshest ingredients and a Fonda twist. Think crispy fish tacos, grilled chicken burritos, herbed mushroom quesadillas, nachos, house-made cervezas and pink grapefruit margaritas. Mi Casa Su Casa.

Great place to catch up with friends. Busy atmosphere on a Saturday night so booking a must. Easy to order and pay individually by scanning menu. Delicious and reasonable priced food and drinks.

Tacos were excellent. The fish tacos especially. We enjoyed the nachos. The were served on sturdy chips which is good. The mac and cheese balls were good. They were served with a tasty sauce. Music was a bit loud, though.

Feeling curious about this place since long time ago, when i finally tried It, i thought… Place looks nice, presentation is ok, service ok, but… The flavour? The food is very average i must say, 19$ for quesadillas than tasted like Frozen food. Dont take me wrong, the place is nice, also the service,they were very friendly, we ordered loaded nachos, tacos, chips, and quesadillas, and the best between all of them were the chips. Total 66$ for this meal. I wont recommend this place. Is missing the real latin flavour right here. Hope the owner read this, amigo…there is something called ‘sofrito’. Google It, and try in your recetas.

I had my 25th birthday party at the rooftop bar and had a really pleasant experience. The food was great, and the staff were so accommodating and sweet. Rooftop was also fully weather-proof so we were all quite warm despite the Melbourne winter. If you’re thinking of hosting an event, highly recommend checking this place out!

It’s a beautiful restaurant with a great set up. It will definitely catch your eyes on the Chapel Street. The food was delicious with their set menu worth every penny. Their drinks could have been better but apart from that the chicken burrito and chips were just absolutely remarkable!

I went to Fonda last weekend for a function on their rooftop bar. It was an amazing atmosphere and the girls behind the bar Lauren, Fleur and Ava were absolutely amazing. They delt with all the guests beautifully and made the experience ten times better. Thanks guys would 100% recommend Fonda and them.

Had been here on a Friday evening. Place is quite busy and better if a table is booked in advance. It has nice interior and good range of vegetarian options. Sir veza beer was good, we loved it.
