Social Profile:

In Mexico, a ‘fonda’ is a home that a family have opened up to their local community as an unofficial restaurant, bringing people together over delicious home-cooked food. Inspired by the fondas of Mexico, we’ve designed our restaurants to make everyone feel at home, with a menu that blends the best Mexican street food flavours with the freshest, ethically-sourced ingredients. Think crispy fish tacos, grilled chicken burritos, herbed mushroom quesadillas, nachos, house-made cervezas and pink grapefruit margaritas. Mi Casa Su Casa.

Trendy operation doing out updated street food classics, as well as cocktails jugs.

Went here for a midweek lunch with work colleagues. Ordering is either via a qr code at the table, but this will incur a 1.5% credit card surcharge, or order at the counter. It is cashless but if you insert your debit card you will not be charged extra. Service is very quick and efficient. Food was ok. I had the chicken quasidilla, the chicken, in my opinion, was underseasoned. Chips were nice.

Very Yummy. Service could be better though – staff were distracted seemingly by tiktoks they were all sharing. The great food made up for it though would still recommend and will be back, no doubt!

I’m very disappointed with our experience here. We called earlier to make a booking and were assured they would have a table for us, we were not asked for our details to confirm the booking, she just said see you at 7:30 and bye. We showed up 5 minutes early and waited to be seated, when asked about booking, we advised them that we had a made a booking but were not asked for details, then the server proceeded to let us know that they didn’t have my more tables but a small one, we were just happy to have a table so we didn’t mind. We sat down and thankfully they cleaned the table and then we ordered our food at the counter, our server was nice. The food came one at time and late. Which was okay but we had the holy guacamole and it was literally just mashed avocados on top of stale tortilla chips. The we ordered 4 chicken tacos and the kids did not even finish it, we had to leave it bc the chicken was burnt and overpowered with the spiciness. My mom did like the chicken burrito tho. I had the vegan burrito bowl, which was honestly just cabbage and like two spoons of the other ingredients, this was also left uneaten. No one checked up on our table to see if enjoyed our food but we were reminded that they were to close soon. We spent $152 and ate not even half of the food, I would probably recommend somewhere else and not this place. The margarita also had too much salt, there was no balance at all. It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful place and aesthetically pleasing but the food was definitely not worth it and very very disappointing. The picture is the good we left on the table

Great after work dinner in the city vibe. Lots of atmosphere. Food and margaritas were good. Easy QR code ordering. Food did come out at noticeably different times across the group, but overall we had a nice evening.

We stopped in for a quick bite before the theatre. As we had had a late lunch we shared a nachos and had churros each for dessert, although we could have easily shared those too. We ordered a taste tester paddle of margaritas which were nice. Great relaxed vibe, order by QR code which I love, friendly staff, we will be back!

I’ve been here many times but lately the service has gone downhill. Can normally get a walk in table no problem or opt for takeaway. Went recently and had to wait 10 minutes to be acknowledged. When the host finally arrived she dismissively told us they’re fully booked. I could see a number of free tables with used glasses and crockery on them so it’s unlikely you were fully booked. She didn’t even attempt to accommodate us or suggest we can order takeaway and sit outside. She wanted us to leave. I just think she couldn’t be bothered. I won’t be back in a hurry.

My 2 cents: Worst dining experience so far in Melbourne. The “guacamole” was just half smashed avocado with no flavor whatsoever (salt no where to be found, not to mention spices). The lime & bitter was just sprite and water casually living in the same glass as lemon . The worst money spent in a while.

Great atmosphere and ambience. Been here twice recently. The food is a little expensive given the sizes and it’s pretty average taste, albeit it was healthy and colourful. Drinks are ridiculously overpriced, absolutely absurd. Chips were great. Location unreal. 7.5/10

Attended at 5pm on a Monday before going to a Big Bash game. Right from our arrival the service was fantastic. Young girl showed us to our table, explained everything to us, as this was our first time here. Very happy and bubbly. Ordered a nachos to share, for our family of 4. Was probably a little small, but made up it that with taste. All the meals had the freshest produce and tasted fantastic. The drinks were a little pricey, $19 for a watermelon and lime margarita that had alot of ice. Overall a very good experience and meal. We will definitely be back.
