Fast service if you call ahead and book your order first. Allow 10 minutes otherwise you will have to wait for around same time. The fish is fresh the chips very crispy very little oil taste.

Reliably good fish and chips in Merimbula / fishpen. Chicken salt lovers need request generous sprinkling to avoid disappointment. Their potato cakes are truly divine.

This place was hyped up to be by family. It was something of a let down. 4 pieces of fish 4 scallops and one serve of chips came to over $70. The chips were hot but not crispy and they had a bad taste to them like old or contaminated oil (to be clear I was stealing them from the bag the instant we got back to the car so it wasn’t a case of them travelling for ages). The grilled fish wasn’t actually grilled it was done in foil which can be nice but in this case didn’t really have any flavour. They tried with butter etc but it just came out bland, it well cooked otherwise. They were quite thin pieces too. The battered fish was ok. All in all not worth the hype or the money.

Seafood great. Chips bad compared to kebab shop. How does the kebab shop do splendid chips… better than fish n CHIP shops? Bewildered.

Best fish in chips for a few towns… Great sized servings, GF option with grilled fish – flat head battered fish was delicious and of course a perfect amount of chicken salt. The tartare sauce was also a 5/5

Chicken nuggets were overcooked, chiko roll was under cooked and food was over salted.

Onion rings used to be their specialty but these were oily and way beyond cooked.Potato cakes again were oily and quite small.Calamari was nice but again a little oily.Staff were efficient but lacked empathy or any PR skills.Definitely not somewhere to be recommended

Hamburgers were amazing. Salads were fresh, bread was lovely. The bloke burger was huge with so much in it, great value. And the chicken schnitzel burger in Turkish bread was one of the tastiest burgers Ive ever had. Congratulations Fish Pen takeaway. (we heard your radio ad, so had to try you when we came to Merimbula from Moruya).

Apparently this pathetic meal was worth $22.50, what an absolute joke.
