This is a great spot in the Southern Highlands that’s my Wife and I visit often. On a cold day turning up to a period style house with warm fire to great you as you enter. Most rooms have a fireplace and have a great vibe with some beautiful artwork on the walls. The food is always good and the wine list compliments it well. If you are in the Suthern Highlands you’d be silly to not come here for a lunch or dinner. Highly recommend!

Oh my goodness! What an amazing experience. Wonderful hospitality and simply exquisite fresh seasonal food cooked and plated to perfection. Melt in the mouth salmon, beautiful lamb, tasty salad combinations, gorgeous local wine and, wait for it…..dancing fish flakes! Go! You have to go! We will be back 200%

Incredible experience! Dishes were amazing, service was great, our waiter was very attentive (didn’t catch his name but he had a French accent), and the cocktails were also great. The gnocchi was melt in your mouth soft! Also noting that it can get quite loud if there is a group in the wine room. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back!

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. The food was of an excellent quality with very generous portions. They were able to offer a complete tasting menu that was gluten free with no compromises. Could not recommend Eschalot more highly.

Absolutely enjoyed the chef’s feed me menu, specifically the kingfish ceviche, southern fried chicken and XO swordfish and clams! Oh and can’t forget the dessert which was a lovely lemon tart with meringue.

We had the “feed me” menu and were really happy. Generous portions, delicious food – nothing super surprising but everything enjoyable. Cocktails were memorably good. Service was lovely. I’d recommend this as a great option for a special occasion in the Highlands!

We were on a weekend away and decided to have a nice dinner rin the restaurant. Ordered the chef’s “feed me” menu and wow, what a feast it was! Our server mentioned that this menu is meant to feed us as when the chef feeds is family.
