We arrived at the cafe around 8:45, attempting to enter. A lady hurried from inside and opened the door, informing me that they would open in 15 minutes. I agreed, but mentioned that Google indicated an 8 o’clock opening time. She casually replied, “Yeah, we didn’t have time to update it. Please come back; you won’t regret it.”

They had run out of most things we wanted by 12pm; including fish, pork belly and cold pressed juice. That’s fine, these things happen. But the burgers we got were cold, the meat was tough and the fries were pale and barely fried, stone cold and unsalted and unseasoned. The service was fine enough, no complaints there and the area itself is very nice, which is to be expected for the Hunter Valley. But food was overpriced and terribly cooked. There’s hundreds of better options to stop at for food in the area.

Firstly I never leave reviews but was so angry I had to. We ordered 6 deluxe bacon and egg rolls ($26 each) 1 bacon and egg roll ($22). They were all meant to be double. Bacon and double egg. They came out cold and when we brought to the staff’s attention they were only single egg single bacon, they took them back already cold and put another egg on but no extra bacon. So they were terrible. In addition I specifically asked for extra hard eggs on mine and the second egg they brought on my roll was dripping egg all over it. They took it back for a second time returned within 1 minute the egg was still runny and it was the same roll with gooey egg wiped off (Photo below)I wouldn’t have paid except you pay upfront and we were so over it we just left.

Shocking experience. Visit taste of the country instead. Overly priced, misleading menus, extensive wait times, incorrect orders, not enough food, rudest manager I have ever experienced. Our orders were put through incorrectly, four of us ordered identical and simple dishes. Waited 30+ minutes for coffee and 50+ minutes for food. Once food came half of the dish was missing. The manager chucked us 4x $5 notes to “compensate”, although this was not really what we were after and he did not let us communicate or converse with him. Wait staff were lovely and were clearly apologetic, but not being treated well by the manager. An extremely disappointing start to the day.

Kitchen was very chaotic (which is fine) but staff were confused by dockets and kept interrupting us when we were trying to place an order at the counter. No napkins or clean glasses given to us, food came out cold and my husband’s wagyu beef burger was Turkish bread with a patty, one slice of cheese and sauce – there were ingredients missing. We double checked with staff that this was a beef burger because it looked like there steak sandwich and she said it was definitely the burger. Total cost was $72.95 and I saw we’d been charged $81. Asked another staff member about surcharges and she said that they should be telling customers it’s an extra 10% on Sundays but there must have been an eftpos surcharge as well. Not happy and not going back.

Excellent. Staff were conscious of cleanliness. Waitress commended our order and she was right. We wanted ice cream so we were taken to pick our gelato. Excellent service. The last time we ate here, we sat outside. It was so busy our order was forgotten it seemed. We were given coffee first with our morning tea coming much much later like it was forgotten. Pleased to see more staff here today. Prices are reasonable and the meals are great with enough on the plate to warrant the price. The Gelato is something else … definitely try the blood orange sorbet – very very good. Certainly cleans the palate. Can highly recommend this place

Over priced, there were 8 of us and the waiter bought us over 4 lots of cutlery (??). I specially asked for flipped eggs, and while they werent flipped, they were firm. Normally I’d forgive it but the rest of the food ordered by the table came out cold and incorrect (the double egg and bacon rolls only had one egg and one rasher of bacon). There is a reason why they get you to order and pay before you get your food- people really need to look at reviews before choosing to eat here

We went here for breakfast this morning, we got in early before the crowds, however there was a huge mixup with our orders, one of my daughter’s came out quickly, but the order was wrong, and we waited for another 15-20 min for jam and another egg. My other daughter’s order never came even with me reminding staff 3 separate times. She waited over an hour for her food. It appears a very busy restaurant with not enough staff, and not enough cooks as everyone waited for their food for over an hour.
