Chirin is a very popular lunch spot because the food is fresh, there are lots of options, it’s great value and the service is fast. I ordered off the Chefs Special menu with Hainanese Chicken Rice which was delicious. The xiao long bao were ok. The serves are generous.

We ordered the scallops, crispy chicken, lamb shank, steamed barramundi, crispy eggplant and steamed kai lan. Overall, the food was good but all the sauces were quite sweet, so everything tastes a bit one dimensional after awhile. Portions are also on the smaller side. Our favourite dishes were the lamb shank, chicken and eggplant. Restaurant ambiance was lovely but service was slow as there seemed to only be one person on the floor. Our main complaint was that it took awhile for our dishes to come out and mains didn’t come out together. We had pretty much finished our first main by the time the last one came out so the kitchen definitely need to work on their timing. We’d definitely come back again and give them another shot though. Hopefully they’ll have ironed out any kinks by then.
