What an amazing dining experience! I have dined at many places in Melbourne and this restaurant is my favourite. Pricey but the food exquisite. Lovely attentive French staff.

I’ve visited here a few times both in summer and winter. Both a lovely vibe. It’s really nice to sit outside on a hot summers day and cosy inside during winter.

A culinary masterpiece awaits at this French restaurant! The blend of classic French flavours with a modern twist is simply exquisite. The ambiance and setup create a delightful atmosphere, and the impeccable service adds to the overall charm. A five-star experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Service and staff were exceptional. The food was below average, the duck tasted like it wasn’t cooked fresh and came out luke warm. It’s a shame, we were expecting big things from this restaurant due to other reviews and living local.

Classic French cuisine with fabulous service. Loved the shared entrees and small plates the best. Everything was so delicious. Highly recommend!

Overall we had a great experience, food was very tasty and well presented. The staff was all very nice and knowledgeable. The only remark I can add is the cost itself, for a dinner it can come as quite expensive and when compared to actual France, you can almost get a Michelin Star restaurant for these prices that said and being this the reality of Melbourne is a nice place. One more recommendation is that the steak with fries could come with at least some form of veggies or salad.

Truly amazing food and atmosphere !! Took my foodie connoisseur friend out for his birthday to Chez Bagou, first impression was wow, then food arrived and I got “this is the best steak I’ve ever had”. Staff were friendly, the ambience was relaxed, great selection of wine and great choice of music playing in the background. Thank you Chez Bagou. On my return list.

We started with kingfish and the ravioli. The kingfish was a delightful explosion of flavour and the pumpkin ravioli was simply sublime, with the buttery saltiness perfectly offsetting the sweetness of the pumpkin. The barramundi was decent, the beef cheeks were a slight disappointment as the jus was thicker than it needed to be and the meat didn’t quite fall apart. The “profiteroles” were where it all came crashing down for us – I am not even sure that it was choux pastry, it was seemingly a hybrid of a macaroon and a cookie with an uninspired chocolate sauce(just choc syrup I think), fresh cream and coconut ice cream. There was nothing at all culinarily skilful about it that warranted its price.
