Chat Thai Chatswood 2067

As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok. Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.

Beautiful indoor decor with plenty of outdoor seating. The menu is extensive but expect to pay a little more for quality and presentation.

A very good experience overall. The range of food here was good and there were ample choices to suit everyone’s tastes and dietary requirements. The service was reasonable but the initial encounter with the staff was a bit iffy as they put us at a table which couldn’t fit the amount of people we needed to seat and then they didn’t want to give us an extra chair??

This is a popular Thai franchise located in the outskirts of Chatswood in Chatswood Place, it’s still walking distance from shops like Chatswood Chase.

This is authentic THAI best Thai food and culture which you must try! I’d recommend Chai-Thai. I instantly fell in love with this place just after my first visit. This is a perfect Thai dish GAENG BPU. This is the best you can enjoy with some crab and curry in it. You can also enjoy a variety of menus, a highly recommended place✨

Seemed to be a trend with small servings with this restaurant. We ordered snapper with lemongrass & tamarind stir fried for $30. Opened & found only 5 pieces of very dried fish with lemongrass/tamarind mix. Called & spoke to the manager, who was arrogant & rude as she said “5 pieces of fish each because of the flavour…this is how we do it” & that was it. Did not bother talking to her further as it was clear they do not care what I think. When tasted the fish, I was furious even more because it tasted like someone just dumped a bag of salt in the fish & this is what they called “flavour”. There’s a lot better value for money options out there then this rubbish.

More on the expensive side for Thai food but we were paying for the dine in experience and presentation and taste. Best Thai milk I’ve had in Sydney it was so GOOD. Got the coconut rice dumplings with minced prawn which was sweetly good when dipped with coconut sauce, also tried khao kreab pak more which was good although had a very strong bamboo taste. Got the massamun curry which was DELECTABLE but the pad see ew was mid

I am appalled at the portion size of Garlic and Pepper Ribs I received tonight – $20 for 6 tiny peices – all bone and little meat. Why do I feel that those who order takeaway get ripped off the most. I know from having worked in hospitality for over 30 years, they would not have dared serve this minuscule portion to a client actually dining in the restaurant. This is the first time I have ever given a bad review for a restaurant. Such a shame because the Chat Thai Restaurant group used to have a good name.

Wow, never thought I’d have to say this about Chat Thai but I feel the need to write a review today as the food was completely rancid – very different from what I usually experience with the Chat Thai chain. Ordered more than $100 worth of food – all 5 dishes had flaws in them; some were disgusting and looked like they came from the worst takeaway Thai shop, not one of the most famous Thai restaurant chains in Sydney. The veggies used in the veg dish were definitely too old and should have been binned. The beef in the beef dish was so tough it’s like the chef cooked it the night before and accidentally microwaved it too long before serving.
