I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Bowery, and it was an absolute gem! ✨ The moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the beautiful decor and vibe. ️ The restaurant, housed in an old church dating back to 1913, has been thoughtfully converted into a stunning dining space.

We stayed nearby so thought we’d check out this place for brunch and we loved it! The interior was inviting, gorgeous bar set-up, tasty food with big servings and the staff was super friendly and funny we would definitely go again! Didn’t get to take lots of food photos, but we all enjoyed our meals.

We had a wonderful morning brunch for a table of 10. The space is incredible, an old church with incredible use of natural light, stained glass windows, vines, monstera and an eclectic mix of modern vintage. The staff were lovely, great coffee and food and reasonably priced for a great meal. Thank you so much to the staff of Bowery, will be back!

Bowery Katoomba Restaurant is part of the Avalon group and the food is much the same, providing simple food, generous portions, at reasonable prices. We dined on a busy Saturday night. The small share plates would be a good choice, the mains are pricey for what you get $38-$40. The service wasn’t great, we felt neglected once our mains arrived. We had to leave our table to purchase additional drinks from the bar and again to pay the bill – this is a staffing issue. The space is delightful, situated in a historical old church which is full of character with cathedral ceilings and lead light windows throughout. It’s great to see musically talented artists being supported and providing live entertainment for patrons on weekends.

Nice place, friendly service. Avocado Toast was good, though the cold Avocado quickly cooled the eggs and not quite the winters meal. The Shakshuka was ok. The Lunch menu looked more appetising. Overall enjoyed our visit and will be back another day for Lunch

The Bowery was a great find. A relatively new restaurant inside an old church, right in the middle of Katoomba. The food is a bit of a mix of influences, but every dish has a distinctive presence in the meal. We ordered the pumpkin and kumera croquettes, the duck and mushroom springrolls, the vegan taco trio, and we shared the snapper for a main. The croquettes were fluffy and soft inside, but beautifully crisp and crunchy outside, served with a decadent satay sauce that made you want to lick plate clean! The springrolls were bursting with filling, crispy and served with a sticky sweet hoisin sauce. The tacos… The tacos were phenomenal. Each of them unique, using a variety of creative vegan ingredients that would have the most ardent carnivore questioning their diet. The snapper was cooked to perfection, with thick cut potato scallops in a bath of rich tomato sauce. Can’t wait to come back here next time we’re in the mountains.
