Met my uncle and aunt down in Geelong as they had just come back from Tassie on the Spirit of Tasmania. Found Bo Thai online and booked. It’s a lovely foreshore area and understandably busy for parking at 6pm on a Sat. There was lots of parking further along near the ferris wheel and its a short stroll back.

Came here during queen’s birthday. The surcharge was 15% which I think is a little high as credit card also incurred surcharge. The food isn’t bad but the white wine we had tasted a little stale. Pad Thai was above average. The seafood volcano was great (lots of sizzle).

I’d really give it ZERO star if I could , worst Thai food experience , the Service was so rude ! I stated to order masaman beef the waiter was in-patience states ‘u have to order rice separately, one rice isn’t big enough for you two to share !’, me and my friend was in shock, my friend hasn’t even start to order his dish yet but we’ve been told that we have to order two separate steamed rice… The taste of dish was shockingly strange , I highly not recommend this restaurant, my masaman beef was tastes literally like sugar syrup! Sickly sweet and no curry taste at all, watery surgery and the beef was thin sliced and tough , for god sake I’ve been to Thai restaurants I know what masaman beef supposed to be , it should be slow cooked trunk beef tender rather than thin slice , I truly believe they used leftovers beef from what they prepared for stir fry dishes, my friend ordered red curry chicken , taste weirdly strange too! Too much of aniseed flavor non curry flavor, we have been forced to order two $4 steamed rice but only one bowl of rice delivered? After I’ve complained about the strange flavor about my curry, I’ve been thinking told this is Thai style and been given two bottle pepper and salt to suit myself…

Nice little Thai restaurant with great service and a lovely and welcoming chef. The layout is sufficient and the staff ready and on call for your convenience. Anyway the food… Had the Entré special and it was a deep fry of wanton, prawn spring roll etc. Bit too much frying but was acceptable. The main was an oyster sauce stir-fry with Seafood and it was spot on. The sauce was not overwhelming and the seafood was tasty. Enough said…
