Dined here on the recommendation of a French colleague, this was for my 50th birthday and then later to see the Moulin Rouge at the theatre across the road. You also know a restaurant must be of exceptional standards when you see a celebrity Chef Matt Preston try to get a table at this busy French restaurant, sadly Matt was turned away as no booking. From the moment you are greeted at the door, this place oozes class and sophistication, you forget you are in Melbourne but like you are in the heart of Paris. The place is quaint, the staff are attentive and compliment the Parisian style bistro. The food and wine selection is to a very high standard and exactly on point. First time eating here and will definitely come back to Melbourne just to eat here. The pate and fresh bread was delicate and delicious, the French traditional dish bouillabaisse was nothing like I have had before and the coq au vin the chicken was cooked to perfection. The food was breathtaking and every dish took me to France. My husband enjoyed the prawns and scallops and lamb and both were delighted about our dining experience. Highly recommend this restaurant when in Melbourne and especially if attending the Moulin Rouge, they ensured we had finished in time to go to the show.

Dinner is always enjoyable at Bistrot d’Orsay. Max is an asset to this establishment, with his friendly and attentive nature. Confit duck is highly recommended. Gnocchi and creme brulee were also very good.

My first visit here a few days ago was an absolute delight from start to finish. Opting for the Gnocchi dish, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was, without a doubt, the finest Gnocchi I’ve ever had the pleasure of savouring. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the European-style ambiance lent an authentic touch to the experience.

The food was excellent, it might seem a little pricey but it’s worth it for the quality. The atmosphere is perfect for dining. The restaurant looks great and everything the kitchen puts out is top quality.

We had the most beautiful experience here! Firstly the restaurant is just gorgeous, so cosy, warm and stunning! It seriously feels like you are in France ✨ The food is out of this world DELICIOUS! So rich in flavour, every meal was perfect! We couldn’t get enough. But what really makes this special place is the staff, each waiter/waitress gave us their full care. They made us feel so special and welcomed. We literally didn’t want to leave! I can totally see why the reviews for restaurant are phenomenal! You have to experience this piece of magic yourself ♥️

Wow what can I say? It was perfect from start to finish. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted immediately and brought to our table. The manager put us by the window as I mentioned it was my partner birthday, a very nice touch!
