My partner and I ate here Sat night, the food was ok but of course it all depends on what you order. The décor is old and uninviting but the most uncomfortable atmosphere was from the female waitress. She walked down the aisle, tossed two menus on the table, and kept walking. We assumed this was our allotted space and sat. Our order was taken without eye contact, the food put on the table as quickly as possible before turning away, once again no eye contact, and the bottle of coke was put down so heavily I’m surprised it didn’t crack. Honestly young lady, if you don’t want to work front of house go out the back and improve on the dumplings.

Really friendly service, fairly quick turnaround. Fairly expensive, when compared to dumpling places in Melbourne. $10 for 10 dumplings. Slight extra charge for sauce (takeaway only?). I ordered steamed pork dumplings. The soy sauce was unusually sweet – a little off-putting. Otherwise, nice food.

We were a party of six at the Dumpling House tonight. My meal, Garlic Scallops, was quite tasty, and there were an acceptable amount of scallops in it. My friends’ meals were mostly good too, but I would have been put off if any dumplings I ordered were bright green, as one of my friends were, but perhaps that’s just me.
