We went there today and we were disappointed. We ordered snack pack but the chips was just a handful. A HANDFUL. We are in chip’s country so this was unacceptable. There were bones in my fish too. I thought it’s just that one but there were four. Good thing I didn’t choked on them. But staffs was polite and nice. Place was clean and service was on time. Not going back to Barnacle Bill though.

My 90 year old mums favourite treat. The staff are always busy, but kind, and happy to adapt their packs to suit mum’s wishes.

The best fish & chips & seafood in Adelaide. Friendly & efficient service. Thank you. I’m sure that the Thirsty Camel staff (next door) would agree with me.

Terrible costumer service, food wasn’t fresh and when I entered the store it smelt like sewage. The owners were so rude to they workers, and from an inside source who previously worked there told me that they cool room never gets cleaned and has mold growing on the shelf’s. Can’t believe how low they safety standards are and the owners should treat they workers more nicely.

The scallops were absolutely awful. Tiny, dry balls of rubber. Not big SA scallops with the juice running out and the orange roe still attached. Dry white balls of rubber. Very disappointing. Prawns over done, fish, a bit dry. But the scallops were there worst I’ve ever had. Never had them like this from here before and I’ve been frequenting this store for over 20 years.

The food is always greasy and oily, yet also so dry. The shop is always dusty, greasy and dated. I’ve been a few times, hit and miss with the staff, often miss. Made me sick last time I went there. The salads and desserts look quite disgusting, I will not be trying them. Shop needs a good clean.

Previous occasion when ordering – They dont do phone orders so when its busy then you just have to wait. If you call up they will take your order but wont start cooking until you get there so there is no point in taking the order in the first place lol

Overall, Barnacle Bill was nice, the food was slightly overcooked, but still good. Internally, the store hasn’t changed for many years. I like the fact that they are using recyclable cutlery, but couldn’t find any serviettes. Plenty of parking at the rear and some at the front. There’s a big step to get in at the front door.
