Bringing a little slice of Parisian cafe culture to Tweed Heads, Baked at Ancora was inspired by our love for the humble French croissant. Flaky, buttery, crispy and golden, it’s a delicate process to create the perfect Parisian croissant – but rest assured, it’s one we take seriously.
Inside our Tweed Heads cafe and waterside bakery (adjoining sister space Ancora Weddings), you’ll find our signature croissants baked with love using local ingredients, in a dedicated pastry room designed to replicate the exact European temperatures of its origin.

The menu looks great. Ordering through the app is fine but I am disinclined to tip before eating or getting any service. I went for the chicken waffles but the batter was so hard in some parts I couldn’t get a fork in. Waffles were great but would have liked some more maple syrup. The half eggs Benny was excellent and the option of half serve is great. Breakfast salad was also nice. Will try again soon hopefully.

What great little place down by the water. Gave 3 star as service was slow (20mins wait for a coffee and they weren’t that busy, perhaps just short on staff). Definitely worth the wait – coffee was delicious. Good to take a jacket as the wind can be cool coming off the water. Price point pretty good given location.

We came here for our kid’s program at the Tweed Heads Auditorium. I came in to have a coffee n Croissant and truly enjoyed the coffee and the tranquillity view of the calm river in the morning. I also the setup and swings. For this, I give you five stars.

The family had a great breakfast at Baked on a Saturday. It was busy which to me shows the place is well liked. The food didn’t disappoint. We all enjoyed what we were served. The wait was normal and the staff were friendly and helpful. The position of course was lovely, right on the river with natural shade from the trees outside. Will be back.
